The Castle perched on Loch Ness
Urquhart Castle has witnessed over 1,000 years of conflict, power struggles and dramatic Scottish history. Once among the nation’s largest fortresses, it changed hands repeatedly before being destroyed during the Jacobite Risings, leaving behind the striking ruins seen today. Visitors can take in its commanding views over the Great Glen and soak up the atmosphere of one of Scotland’s most iconic lochs.
